IPW Heavyweight Championship History
|

|
July 1st, 2003 - When the MWCW and the AXW both
closed, their champions at that time were both Mr. Destiny. Being
the champion for both promotions, he was awarded the IPW Heavyweight
Championship by Troy Peterson on IPW's inaugural show in Delta,
Iowa. This was Mr. Destiny's first IPW Heavyweight Championship
run. |
|

|
July 26th, 2003 - Mitch Paradise beats Mr. Destiny
in Algona, Iowa for the IPW Heavyweight Championship. |
|

|
August 8th, 2003 - Brian Ash was awarded the IPW
Heavyweight Championship while he was the number 1 contender for the
title and when Champion Mitch Paradise could not compete, he was
stripped of the title and awarded to Brian Ash. This is Ash's
first title run. |
|

|
August 8th, 2003 - Brian Ash's title run was short
lived, because later that night, he was challenged by Mr. Destiny and
defeated. The match took place in Delta, Iowa. This was Mr.
Destiny's second title run. |
 |
January 3rd, 2004 - T.S. Aggressor defeated Mr.
Destiny after he was in disguise as Thrillcat to win his first IPW
Heavyweight Championship. Thrillcat won a #1 contenders match the
month before, and T.S. had lost a "loser leaves IPW" Match with Mr.
Destiny. T.S. attacked Thrillcat backstage and took his place in
the match, and defeated Mr. Destiny. After the match, IPW
officials stripped T.S. of the title because he was not eligible to
hold it because he was no longer in IPW.
|
 |
March 27th, 2004 - Johny Fitness defeated Havyk, Mr. Destiny, and
Gage Octane in a 4 way elimination match for the vacant IPW Heavyweight
Championship. This is Fitness's first IPW title run.
|
 |
October 23rd, 2004 - Havyk defeated Johny Fitness in a
Last Man Standing match in Delta, Iowa to win his first IPW Heavyweight
Championship.
|
 |
July 16th, 2005 - After leaving Impact Pro Wrestling the month
prior, Gage Octane made a surprise return attacking Mr. Destiny and
Brian Ash. Then he asked Commissioner Shettler if he could be
entered into the Battle Royal planned for that night and a chance to
get at his former "partners". Shettler agreed and Gage ended up
winning it and then went on to shock IPW by de-throning the longest
reigning champion in IPW history, HAVYK!
|
 |
February 4th, 2006- Johny Fitness captured his
second IPW title by rather dubious methods. In a match between
the two top "good guys" in IPW, Johny Fitness showed his true colors
and after faking an injury, cheated Gage Octane out of his IPW
Title. Everybody should have seen it coming though, after Johny
"missed" his scheduled tag team title match with his brother Matty. |

|
September 23rd, 2006-
Matty Fitness
won the IPW title
for the very first time, after finally defeating his own brother Johny
Fitness ending a bitter feud between the brothers. Not long
afterwards Matty Fitness changed his name to Matty Star.
|

|
January 27th, 2007-
A.J. Smooth
defeated Matty Star at the Delta Dome to capture his first IPW
Heavyweight World Championship.
|

|
May 10th, 2008 - IPW Heavyweight Championship: IPW
Champion A.J. Smooth versus Montoya X. This title match saw the two
opponents beating each other in and out of the ring. Smooth was busted
open on the head when he got rammed into the garage door of the
building. Smooth also had his thong ripped off of him by Montoya X. The
end came down when Montoya X hit a frog splash. Flav's cane was somehow
tossed into the ring. X picked up the cane and was about to use it on
Smooth which would have DQ'ed him. X instead tossed the cane away and
rolled Smooth up for the 1..2..3....NEW IPW HEAYVWEIGHT CHAMPION
MONTOYA X! Wrestlers gathered in the ring and cheered on the new
champion!
|

|
April 4th, 2009 - IPW Heavyweight Champion Montoya
X and #1 Contender AJ Smooth faced off in an epic battle. Both men
pulled out all of the big moves, but in the end AJ Smooth was able to
pick up the win in Algona, Iowa at the Vault in front of the hometown
fans. Needless to say, Smooth was the only person whom enjoyed it. This
was AJ's second IPW Heavyweight Championship win.
|

|
January
16th, 2010 - Earlier in the
night, AJ demanded that the championship match of the night would
become a three-way dance, featuring himself, Sparow, and Tony Sly. AJ
was eliminated first, leaving only Sly and Sparow in the battle. Sly
was able to pick up the win via pinfall and become the newest Impact
Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Champion.

|
August 27th, 2005 - After the previous month when The 2nd Coming lost
a "Tag Team Must Split Up Match" where after they lost, Devin Carter
turned on Chance Cordova and Vin Cross ended up turning on Dirty
Sanchez. That set up a match where Cordova fought Carter for the
rights of the name the 2nd Coming. And Cross and Sanchez fought

second title run, still Cross's first. |

|
May 16th, 2009- A
fantastic match gives the title to the amazing tag team phenom that is

IPW Extreme Championship History

|
 |
July 12th,
2008- Project Matthew
vs Supa Cito kid was a great match...Tons of action with
hardcore/extreme moves...In the end PM was able to kick out of the code
red and hit the power cord for the big win and Extreme Title. Project
Matthew turned his back on the fans after the match...
|

|
January 10th, 2009- Tony
Sly and Project Matthew collided for the extreme championship. Sly gave
a good promo to start this one that clearly put the fans in his corner.
This match literally kicked ass. It was a back-and-forth hard hitting,
physical match. They had me thinking it was over on several occasions,
only to have another kick out and more back and forth action. PM looked
like an Olympic high jumper delivering a spin wheel kick that appeared
to be ever bit of Sly’s 6'5" height. The crowd was making noise from
bell to bell (noticing a trend?) I loved the finish. After a series of
quick, well executed reversals, Sly hit his double underhook
neckbreaker to win not only the match, but his first championship in
four years of wrestling with IPW. Well done.
|
 |
May
16th, 2009-
I'm not sure if there ever will be a match between these two guys that
I won't enjoy. They just have ring styles that compliment each other so
well that it's almost impossible not to get sucked into the atmosphere
of the match. BAK BAK BAK!
|

|
October 24th, 2009- Young
Sparrow was tested by the expansive array in the arsonal of Project
Matthew but in the end used a bit of Projects own medicine in capturing
the Extreme Title in one of the biggest wins of his young career.
Sparrow celebrated the victory in the ring with other peers from IPW. |
