What a fantastic show! This has really been one of the more impressive IPW shows that I have seen recently (which is saying a lot, because I basically mark out for everything IPW). I don't really think that there was a bad thing on the whole card. Here are some results.

Sparrow d. Jayson Kinkaid
Ninja d. Thrillcat
Justin Decent & Ugly d. The Big Picture and AJ Smooth
Nicky Free d. Matty Star
Anthony Draven d. "The Ref" The Referee!
Tony Sly d. Montoya X
Fans Bring The Weapons Battle Royal Winner: Montoya X

Overall thoughts: One fantastic show for a fantastic crowd. I honestly thought that even Ninja carried a match well enough. I think that Draven is x23409 better with this gimmick. Montoya X had the twist of the night with his brother turning on him. It was actual unexpected, at least from my point of view. Wait, unexpected? In pro wrestling? Yeah, take notes WWE. The fans bring the weapons match was awesome. Laugh all you want, but those are the types of stipulations that I live for. I thought getting my shoe taken was pretty awesome. I give the bump of the night to Big Picture after he took that shot from the keyboard. Second bump goes to Matty with the whole trashcan bodyslam ordeal. In the words of one famous ECW commentary genious, OHMYGAWD. I really liked the STO that Montoya gave Sly. I thought the ducked clothesline right into the sweeping STO looked extremely awesome. Even though I've seen it done a billion times, this one looked fantastic. Matty and Nicky had a pretty great match. Hell, there wasn't one bad match. One question, who the guy decked out in Jeff Hardy attire? With the lip ring and blonde/black hair? Basically reiterrating what I've already said, the whole show was freaking great.

6) Battle Royal. This featured many of the IPW wrestlers. The last men in the ring were A.J. Smooth, Playboy Anthony Draven and Sparrow. Smooth and Draven tried to double clothesline Sparrow over the top rope but Sparrow ducked and they both landed to the floor. Sparrow was going to be declared the winner until Tony Sly interrupted and said that he was never eliminated since he never entered the ring. Tony Sly then tried to eliminate Sparrow but he went over the top rope instead. Sparrow was declared the winner.

Referees: Referee Billy J. and Referee Mikey

1) Matty Star defeated A. J. Smooth (w/ Playboy Anthony Draven) with a rollup. Smooth got in the face of Referee Mikey and shoved him. Referee Mikey shoved him back and Matty rolled him up for the pin. A.J. Smooth and Matty Starr talked about having a tag match. Matty said Smooth could pick whomever he wants for Matty's partner. Smooth chose to have Matty team up with Referee Mikey against Smooth and Draven.

2) IPW Tag Team Champions Ugly and Justin Decent (w/Suzie) defeated Shawn Roman and Marshall Scott to retain the IPW Tag Team titles. Justin Decent hit a samoan drop on his opponent after Ugly ran into him.

3) Montoya X (with his manager Louis ??? III) defeated Nicky Free. I've been told that after the match, that Montoya's manager did alot of cheating in the match. The end of the match came when Montoya's manager threw brass knuckles to Montoya X which he used to knock out Nicky Free for the pin.

Intermission

4) Matty and Referee Mikey defeated A.J. Smooth and Playboy Anthony Draven. Matty hit a lionsault on Draven to pick up the pinfall.

5) IPW Extreme Champion Sparrow (with Kiandra) defeated Jason Kincaid (with Ferrah Lee) to retain the IPW Extreme title. Sparrow hit a top rope cross body move on Kincaid to pick up the win. During the match Kiandra and Ferrah Lee got into it and had to be separated by Decent/Ugly and Roman/Scott.

6) Over-The-Top Battle Royal. Winner gets $2500. The battle royal featured the wrestlers above as well as Harley Jackson, Ryan Slade, James Jeffries, The Big Picture, Flav and etc. Johny Fitness made an apperarance and evened the odds up. The last guys in the ring were A.J. Smooth, Playboy Anthony Draven and Matty Starr. Smooth and Draven tried to double clothesline Matty Starr over the top rope but instead they both landed on the concrete floor. Matty Starr won the battle royal and celebrated with Johny Fitness.

Overall, it was a great show. The Crystal Lake fans had a great time. The icing on the cake was watching the UNI Panthers knock off #1 seed Kansas in the NCAA Basketball Tournament before the show started.

Algona March 27th

Big Picture VS Nicky Free
AJ Smooth (w/ Ferrah Lee) and The Big Picture let the crowd know how they felt before the match.

A good athletic contest to start the show. A battle between two guys well over 6' that still had some high flying action. In the end, the energy of Nicky Free was too much for TBP, and Nicky picked up the win with a big boot and a leg drop.

It appeared there was some dissension in the ranks between TBP, AJ Smooth and Ferrah Lee. AJ came out to smooth it over.

CBK VS Anthony Playboy Draven
Next we saw CBK fight to over come not only the "playboy", but also deal with Flav. In the end, even the underhanded tactics of Flav could not stop the high energy CBK from picking up a big win.

Unhappy with the results, Flav jumped CBK from behind, only to have The Natural Nate Austin come out and destroy Flav with a big Black Hole Slam.

Jason Kinkaid VS Justin
The popular JustIn Decent and Susie entertained the crowd on the way to victory over Jason Kinkaid. Even with all the aggression that Kinkaid displayed in the match, it ended when he went for a hurricanrana from the top rope, only to take a huge powerbomb from Decent.

In between the matches, Johny Fitness came out to address the crowd. Fitness wanted to talk to the 7' new comer Harley Jackson. Soon after Harley came out, he laid into Fitness, pummeling him before Fitness could fight back. TS Aggressor even came into the ring to stop Jackson, but Harley quickly stopped him too. Harley eventually left the two men in the ring.

Matty Star VS Ryan Slade
New comer to IPW Ryan Slade showed why he is known on midwest independent circuit, with a excellent hard fought battle against the dangerous Matty Star. This match saw a great mix of technical wrestling and high impact offense. In the end, Matty hit his devastating Snap Mare Driver to stun Slade.

At the end of the intermission, Tony Sly came out to run down Montoya X. Having none of it, Montoya came out and confronted Sly, which quickly broke down into a brawl, which had to be pulled apart.

AJ Smooth VS Ugly
Ugly lost cause he sucks.

After the match, TBP again made his way to the ring to put the boots to Ugly. Surprisingly, AJ prevented him from doing any additional damage, telling TBP that he had already beaten Ugly.

Marshall Scott & Shawn Roman VS James & Sparrow
In this fast paced tag match we saw Sparrow and Jefferies pull out all the stop and hit a lot of aerial offense. With a lot of back and forth, Roman ended up pinning Sparrow with a roll up after Sparrow was shoved into the valet Kiandra. After the loss, Kinda did not appreciate Shawns advances, and proceeded to try to extinguish the "Roman Candle" with a well placed boot. Jefferies and Sparrow sent Scott and Roman to the floor before celebrating.

Tony Sly VS Montoya X
In the main event, it was easy to feel the tension and anger between the two competitors. After a lot of back and forth brawling and both men hitting big moves, the match ended when the Ref was caught in the corner by accident by Montoya. Sly got a chair, and gave Montoya a wicked shot.

The ref seeing the shot, DQ'ed Sky. The winner was Montoya X, but Tony Sly retains the belt.

A great show with literal "standing room only". It seems that every promotion loves to inflate the number of people who attend, but we literally had to pull extra chairs from the back to get everybody a seat. I was very happy to see the vault that full again.

Here are the quick results from the Impact Pro Wrestling show @ Rustix Restaurant & Reception in Humboldt, Iowa on Saturday, April 3, 2010:

IPW

1) Nicky Free defeated Shawn Roman with a Big Boot/Leg Drop to pick up the win.

2) Sparrow/James Jefferies defeated Jason Kincaid/Big Picture in a tag team match which saw Sparrow helping Jefferies hit Big Picture with The Sliced Bread. Big Picture was seen holding on to his arm after the match. Hope he is alright.

3) Harley Jackson defeated Playboy Anthony Draven after a HUGE chokeslam! Draven had to be helped to the back after the devastating slam.

4) IPW Title Match: Tony Sly (w/Flav) defeated Justin Decent (w/Suzie). Flav interfered in the match at times. Justin Decent and Suzie hit a double suplex on Sly. The end of the match came when Flav was choking Suzie with his cane. Sly lost one of his contacts on the mat. During this time, I've been told that Flav hit Decent with his cane. Sly hit his finishing move on Decent to pick up the win.

Intermission

5) Ugly (w/Kiandra) defeated Marshall Scott (w/Ferrah Lee) when Ugly hit a TKO on Scott. After the match Kiandra and Ferrah Lee were talking smack in the ring when Ferrah slapped Kiandra. Kiandra slapped her back. Ferrah tried to clothesline Kiandra, Kiandra ducked and Kiandra kicked Ferrah Lee in the head and knocked her to the ground. Kiandra and Ferrah Lee were rolling around on the match on each other and had to be pulled apart by Ugly and Scott.

6) A.J. Smooth (w/Flav) defeated Montoya X with a lungblower as Montoya X jumped off the top rope. Before the end of the match, Flav jumped on the apron after Montoya X hit a Frog Splash on Smooth. Montoya X tried to knock Flav down but Flav slipped out of his pimp coat. This allowed time for Smooth to recover.

7) IPW Street Fight Battle Royal. Weapons involved in the match were a plastic gnome, trash can lid, cookie sheet, computer keyboard, kendo stick and etc. The Battle Royal featured the wrestlers in the matches before as well as Prince Sumit, Devin Carter, CBK and Nacho Libre.

Overall, a great show from top to bottom. The crowd attendance was on the lighter side, probably due to the Easter weekend. The crowd enjoyed all of the action.
